Gesha Village is located in the Bench Maji region of south western Ethiopia and is one of the original homes of the legendary Gesha variety. Sitting at 1,900–2,100 metres above sea level beside the Gori Gesha Forest Reserve, the region's rainforest climate, rich biodiversity and unique terroir create the foundation for extraordinary coffee.
The Gesha Village project began in 2007, founded by Rachel Samuel and Adam Overton. Inspired by the wild Gesha trees growing in the surrounding forest, they set out to revive the coffee heritage of this remarkable landscape. The estate grows varieties including Gesha 1931, Gori Gesha and Illubabor Forest, with processing methods ranging from washed and honey to natural.
This coffee is from the Grower's Reserve range which are special micro lots, accounting for 15 percent of the production at Gesha Village. These coffees exhibit superior flavour attributes and excellent cup quality.
For this coffee, expect bright floral aromatics meet sweet citrus and a delicate tea like finish. Clean, elegant and transparent, this is a cup that captures the purity & elegance of Ethiopia's high altitude terroir.
